Jessica Gerson, LCSW
Jessica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing in the New Orleans metro area since 2012. She studied psychology at Northwestern University and Smith College, where she received her B.A. in 2005 before completing her MSW at Tulane School of Social Work in 2011. In addition to her Masters in Social Work, in which she focused on treatment of children and adolescents, Jessica completed a certificate in Disaster Mental Health and Trauma Studies to further develop her skills in working with children in crisis. While studying at Tulane, Jessica completed an internship in infant mental health at Early Childhood Supports & Services, where she trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Circle of Security Relationship-Based Early Intervention, and diagnostic play therapy. Before opening her own practice, Jessica provided clinical therapeutic services to children and adolescents at Child Counseling Associates, LLC in Metairie, where she learned protocols in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in young children (Preschool PTSD Treatment), and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Children and Adolescents with Anxiety (Treatment for Youth with Disorders of Anxiety). Prior to that, Jessica worked intensively with pre-adolescents, adolescents, and their families in the Multisystemic Therapy program at Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority.
